Backing-up HE2 Job Data
The export function in HE2 can be used to back up your
job data.
The first step is to create a new folder on your hard
drive to export the data to. This new folder should be
a separate folder - not a sub-folder of the Slant/Fin
folder. Create a new folder using Windows Explorer -
I have named mine HE2data. Then use
the export function to send your job data to the back-up
folder.
- If you have HE2 open, close the program to save any
work in progress
- Open the Heat Loss Express module from the
main HE2 menu
- Select Jobs in the menu bar, and
then Export Data
- Select your back-up folder in the Destination
File Name menu
- Enter a File name for this back-up,
such as a 6-digit number to represent the date of the
back-up, and then open
- Select the jobs you wish to back-up from the job
list, and then click OK
Using Windows Explorer, verify that the data file is
now listed in your back-up folder. Once your data is
there, consider copying the back-up folder to CD or floppy
disk to preserve your job data in case you have to re-install
the entire HE2 program in the event of a hard drive failure.
Important note - Boiler proposals are
not backed up by this process.
